The World According to Biomes Curriculum

The World According to Biomes is the introductory curriculum guide to the biome study that leads to an exploration of each continent by biomes. It begins with the concept of a biome by looking at its parts: the energy from the sun, the water, the soil, the air, the plants, and the animals. Each part of the biome is explored with nomenclature, hands-on activities, movement, drama, and art.

The place to start is with the introductory curriculum entitled “The World According to Biomes”. You can download a pdf version right here along with the masters for making the nomenclature and other materials. It’s free.

You can purchase a printed copy of the curriculum along with the nomenclature including definitions, pictures, and labels ready to laminate below.

This introductory curriculum introduces the concept of a biome by looking at its parts: the energy from the sun, the water, the soil, the air, the plants, and the animals. Each part of the biome is explored with nomenclature, hands-on activities, movement, drama, and art.

Before beginning a study of a continent by biomes, we recommend the Biomes of the World Cards». These language cards explore the eight different biomes used as general categories throughout the curriculum.
