Biomes of South America

South America contains the rich diversity of the Amazon, the largest wetland in the world being the Pantanal, spectacular heights of the Andes, and the driest of deserts in the Atacama. Indigenous tribes include the Yanonami of the tropical forest and the Quechua of the mountains. People in cities of the temperate forests along the southwest coast and rural people of the wetlands and grasslands called the pampas give a realistic impression of the population.
