North America Biome Curriculum-Elementary

The elementary version includes nomenclature with a picture, definition and label. All cards are labeled and numbered on the back for identification and control of error. The layers of each biome are explored down into the soils which develop differently according to moisture and temperature. The surface of the biome may have many layers such as in the tropical forest. You will find an animal for each biome as well as plants that are especially adapted. In the temperate forest, we take the opportunity to study the parts of a tree, the cross-section of a tree, the parts of a bud and the parts of a mushroom. The mountains make us wonder how they happened so we study the layers of the earth where magma has a role in the formation of the different types of mountains. The parts of a volcano are relevant here.
